French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner told reporters earlier that "two firefighters, two civilians" had died when a suspected gas leak explosion ripped through the building.
Paris prosecutors said later that two firefighters had died, according to Le Figaro newspaper. Further 37 people were slightly injured, they added.
