Most Ukrainians Have Gloomy View of Life - Poll

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st December, 2018) A majority of Ukrainians share a pessimistic outlook on life and describe their hardships as great or even unbearable, a poll out Friday suggested.

The survey was conducted on September 13-29 by the Democratic Initiatives foundation together with the Ukrainian academy of Sciences' Institute of Sociology.

Forty-six percent of 1,800 those sampled said their suffering was "intolerable," while 36 percent called their life difficult. Fifty-two percent said they did not expect their situation to improve next year.

The same poll, which covered all regions except the two breakaway eastern provinces, found that nearly 60 percent of respondents regarded the political situation in the country as strained, while almost 28 percent feared it could get out of hand.
