Russia Considers US Military Presence in Ukraine Redundant - Deputy Foreign Minister

From the Russian point of view, the US military presence in Ukraine is redundant and violates the Minsk agreements, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told Sputnik in an interview

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th December, 2018) From the Russian point of view, the US military presence in Ukraine is redundant and violates the Minsk agreements, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told Sputnik in an interview.

"Since 2014, US instructors have been deployed at various training grounds in Ukraine and have been training soldiers and officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces there all year around. The US Navy ships often enter Ukraine's ports on the Black Sea, take part in joint drills in cooperation with the Ukrainian Defense Ministry .

.. In other words, we see redundant US military presence in Ukraine, which is not in line with the Minsk Agreements (Provision 10)," Karasin said.

The 10th provision of the 2015 Minsk agreement envisages withdrawal of all foreign armed units, vehicles and mercenaries from Ukraine under the supervision of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) as well as disarmament of illegal armed groups.
