Russia Did Not Order to Shoot at Those Illegally Crossing Border, Unlike US - Lavrov

The United States has ordered to shoot at those who violate the US-Mexican border, while Russia did not act like this within the Kerch Strait Incident, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.

MILAN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th December, 2018) The United States has ordered to shoot at those who violate the US-Mexican border, while Russia did not act like this within the Kerch Strait Incident, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday.

"When proceeding is over, trial will begin," Lavrov said at a press briefing, commenting on the situation with Ukrainian sailors detained within the incident.

"They have violated international law and Russian laws. They have illegally entered the territorial waters of the Russian Federation, they did not leave these waters, they refused to answer questions. This is a crime, and I think this would be qualified as a crime in any country. Just look: at the US-Mexican border, it was just ordered to shoot to kill at anyone who would cross the border illegally. We didn't act like that," Lavrov added.
