Syrian Soldier Injured in Shelling by Militants in Aleppo Province - Russian Military

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th November, 2018) The Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria said Thursday that a serviceman of the Syrian government army was injured in shelling by militants in Syria's Aleppo province.

"Over the past day militants have attacked Masafna in Hama province, Al-Aziziyah and Sukkari in Aleppo province. One serviceman of the Syrian Arab Republic was wounded in the attack at Sukkari," Lt. Gen. Vladimir Savchenko, head of the center, said.

He also noted that the center carried out a humanitarian action in the province of Hama, delivering 450 food sets to those in need.

The center's staff also met with the administration of Mazlum in the province of Deir ez-Zor.

"During the meeting, they discussed recovering of social infrastructure (schools, medical facilities, water pump stations and electrical plants) and preparation of educational and medical facilities for the winter season," Savchenko said.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and militant and terrorist organizations. Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been providing humanitarian aid to residents of the crisis-torn country.
