Iran May Renegotiate Nuclear Deal if US Changes Approach - Javad Zarif

Iran is ready to re-engage with the United States in talks on a new nuclear deal if the administration of President Donald Trump changes its approach, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th November, 2018) Iran is ready to re-engage with the United States in talks on a new nuclear deal if the administration of President Donald Trump changes its approach, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said.

The United States on Monday brought back severe sanctions on Iran's oil trade, shipping and banking.

Its stated goal is to pressure Tehran to renegotiate the 2015 nuclear deal.

"We are willing to wait out this approach. The Trump administration can change its approach ... We don't care who is behind that approach," Zarif told USA Today.

The diplomat slammed the Trump administration for failing to be a "reliable negotiating partner" but denied wishing for another president in the White House, saying Iran did not interfere in US domestic politics.
