Russian telecommunications and media watchdog Roskomnadzor has sent a notice to Google saying that it had created a report detailing the tech giant's administrative offenses and is planning this report to be signed in the presence of Google representatives on November 26, Vadim Ampelonsky, Roskomnadzor's press secretary, told Sputnik on Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd November, 2018) Russian telecommunications and media watchdog Roskomnadzor has sent a notice to Google saying that it had created a report detailing the tech giant's administrative offenses and is planning this report to be signed in the presence of Google representatives on November 26, Vadim Ampelonsky, Roskomnadzor's press secretary, told Sputnik on Friday.

On Thursday, the head of Roskomnadzor said that Google representatives intended to arrive in Russia for negotiations within a month and a half

"We have sent them a notice via e-mail today that we had drawn up an administrative offense report. We are also going to send them a letter via the Russian Post today. Taking into consideration that the letter will be sent to the United States, the signing of the report in the presence of the company's representatives is scheduled for November 26," Ampelonsky said.

On October 25, Roskomnadzor said in a statement that Google had not connected to the Russian Federal State Information System, which requires search engines to remove links to prohibited resources from search results. As a result, the watchdog said that the tech giant would be slapped with fines varying from 500,000 to 700,000 rubles ($7,580-$10,612).

Roskomnadzor added that it had communicated this information to Google in a letter, and that after receiving Google's reply it would file an administrative offense report with the court.

On June 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed into law amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, making operators of research engines liable to fines for their failure to remove links to pages listed in the register of prohibited internet resources from the search results.
