Russia Records 7 Ceasefire Violations in Syria Over Past 24 Hours - Defense Ministry

The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered seven truce violations in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded no breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry said in its daily bulletin on Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd November, 2018) The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire has registered seven truce violations in the country over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side has recorded no breaches, the Russian Defense Ministry said in its daily bulletin on Friday.

"[Over the past 24 hours,] the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 7 cases of firing in the provinces of Aleppo - 5, Latakia - 2. The Turkish side has registered no cases of ceasefire violation," the bulletin said.

The Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides has carried out one humanitarian action over this period, distributing 300 food sets weighing 1.

29 tonnes in the province of Damascus.

The number of areas that signed reconciliation agreements has remained the same and amounts to 2,518, while the number of armed formations claiming to observe the ceasefire has remained unchanged as well, standing at 234, according to the bulletin.

Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire in Syria. The Russian side also provides assistance to Damascus in the repatriation of refugees, the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged during the war and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Syrians.
