Frieha Altaf got mugged in Karachi and PTI wants Sindh govt to take action

PTI says provincial govt wants power but not willing to work.

Karachi (Pakistan Point News – 3rd October, 2018) Renowned PR and fashion personality Frieha Altaf was robbed in Karachi at gunpoint while returning home from a fashion event.

According to the details shared she was held at gun point in Karachi’s Khayaban-e-Muhafiz area two nights ago as she was driving back home from FPW with her daughter. Three boys halted their vehicle and snatched cell-phones, jewels, cash, credit cards and handbags.

The news was shared by Frieha Altaf in a tweet.

She wrote, “Got held up @ gunpoint coming home from fashion week last night with my daughter. 3 adolescent boys on a bike! Nothing worse than having a gun in your face with ur kid in the car. Khi needs a cleanup asap My real estate agent has been held up 11 times! #NayaPakistan @ImranKhanPTI”.

“What's even more mindboggling is that we also had a theft in office the same day. Inspite of security cameras, an alarm system, chowkidaar, Laptop petrol card missing. An internal job being investigated,” she said later in another tweet.

This started a new debate on social media and several celebs voiced their grievances against the rising street crime in the city.

Actor Fahad Mustafa wrote, “It’s true. I’m in Lahore and there is a sense of security in the air. Traffic wardens and police seems to be present on the streets where they should be. I always feel like this is a different country altogether. People of Karachi and Sindh need the same.”

Meanwhile, Shaniera Akram, wife of cricket legend Wasim Akram wrote, “Very sad to hear this Frieh Altaf. The only thing that will help us is an education system for all children, city planning to accommodate growing families and more job placement programs for the communities. This is what needs to be implemented to combat the crime within our city.”

Soon after Frieha’s tweet, PTI’s official Twitter account responded to the tweet urging the Sindh government to take action to curb the ever increasing street crime.

“Alarming rise in street crime in Karachi. Provincial govt wants power but not willing to work. Let us remind PPP that PM IK has given the provincial govt 2 months to act on street crime & other issues. Otherwise, people will demand that Federal takes matters into own hands,” it wrote.
