MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 02nd October, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin may meet with Royal Dutch Shell CEO Ben van Beurden on the sidelines of the upcoming Russian Energy Week to discuss Sakhalin-1 and Baltic LNG projects, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said on Tuesday.

"If there is an opportunity, he will meet with Royal Dutch Shell CEO Ben van Beurden. They have things to discuss - both Sakhalin-1 and Baltic LNG," Ushakov told reporters.

The Russian Energy Week will begin in Moscow on Wednesday and continue through Saturday.

In June 2017, the Russian state-controlled energy company Gazprom and the UK-Dutch energy corporation Royal Dutch Shell agreed on the main principles of cooperation in the Baltic LNG project.

Sakhalin-1 is another Russian LNG project operated by Exxon Neftegas Limited, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil. The US company holds a 30-percent stake in the project, same as Japan's Sodeco. Russia's Rosneft and India's ONGC each have a 20-percent stake in it.
