Russia Vows to Preserve Iran Nuclear Deal After US Exit - Lavrov

Russia will make every effort to keep in place the UN-backed nuclear deal with Iran after the United States withdrew despite Tehran's compliance, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Friday at the UN General Assembly.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th September, 2018) Russia will make every effort to keep in place the UN-backed nuclear deal with Iran after the United States withdrew despite Tehran's compliance, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Friday at the UN General Assembly.

"A lack of progress in ratifying the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty and creating a WMD-free zone in the middle East has been further exacerbated by the US unilateral exit from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in violation of Resolution 2231 and despite Iran's full compliance with its obligations. We will do everything to preserve the UN-approved deal," he said.
