UN Members Should Stop Supply Oil Products to North Korea - Japan's Foreign Minister

The international community must stop all oil supplies to North Korea, Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs Taro Kono said at the UN Security Council meeting in New York on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th September, 2018) The international community must stop all oil supplies to North Korea, Japan's Minister for Foreign Affairs Taro Kono said at the UN Security Council meeting in New York on Thursday.

"All [United Nations] member states must immediately stop supplying oil products to North Korea," Kono said.

Kono pointed out that the limits established by sanctions per UN Security Council resolutions have already has been reached, but some countries continue to supply oil to North Korea.

North Korea may receive annually about 540,000 metric tons of crude oil through a pipeline from China and slightly more than 60,000 tonnes of oil products from Russia and other countries, according to the latest UN Security Council resolution on North Korea.
