Arab Congress of Anaesthesia , Intensive Care and Pain Management kicks off in Dubai

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 27th Sep, 2018) Humaid Al Qutami, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, DHA, today opened the 12th Pan Arab Congress of Anaesthesia, Intensive Care and Pain Management in Dubai.

The congress, attended by more than 700 doctors and specialists from 22 countries, aims to bring together experts in the field to share state-of-the-art presentations as well as insights into clinical research and therapeutic interventions.

In his opening speech, Al Qutami emphasised the importance of anaesthesia studies and research and the big role that anesthesiologist have in the medical field. He also announced the launch of the examination of the European Diploma in Regional Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Management, EDRA, for the first time in the UAE in collaboration with the European Society of Anaesthesiology.

He added that the UAE has made important strides in providing quality health services to Emiratis, expats and visitors and that the DHA is keen to transform Dubai into a leading destination for world class medical services.

He said the authority strives to provide the best medical services that are in par with international standards to ensure a healthy environment where patients can be treated in operation theatres and ICUs by skilful doctors especially anaesthesia doctors.

He concluded by stating that the authority holds such specialised conferences in high regards as it is aware of the big opportunities it provides in sharing experiences and ideas in different medical fields that can ultimately lead to the betterment of services provided to the customers.

The event also features an exhibition that will run in concurrence with the conference, where advanced medical equipment and medications will be showcased.
