The format of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), held annually in Russia, will be changed in 2019 so that the results of the sessions on key topics would be reported to President Vladimir Putin, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev said on Thursday.

VLADIVOSTOK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 13th September, 2018) The format of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), held annually in Russia, will be changed in 2019 so that the results of the sessions on key topics would be reported to President Vladimir Putin, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev said on Thursday.

The forum would not include as many events as the 2018 edition did, Trutnev, who also works as the presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, said, adding that only the most important topics for the region would be discussed during next year's forum.

"The forum is not vertically-oriented [at the moment].

I have asked Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] and agreed that the next forum will be organized in a slightly different way ... The moderators of these sessions will report the results to the president," Trutnev told reporters on the sidelines of the EEF.

The official noted that such changes required thorough preparations.

The fourth edition of the EEF started on Tuesday and concluded earlier on Thursday. The forum was held on Russky island in Russia's Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency is the general information partner of the forum.
