Local residents say that filming of a staged provocation with the alleged use of chemical weapons has begun in Syria's Idlib province, the Russian Center for Syrian Reconciliation said in a statement on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) Local residents say that filming of a staged provocation with the alleged use of chemical weapons has begun in Syria's Idlib province, the Russian Center for Syrian Reconciliation said in a statement on Tuesday.

"According to information received from the residents of Idlib province, filming of a staged provocation with the alleged use of 'chemical weapons' by the Syrian army against civilians has now begun in the settlement of Jisr al-Shughur," the statement read.

The center noted that camera crews of several middle Eastern broadcasters, as well as of a regional branch of the US leading news channel had arrived in Jisr al-Shughur in the morning.

"The plot envisages staged scenes showing 'activists' of the Civil Defence ("White Helmets") 'helping' the residents of Jisr al-Shughur after the Syrian army allegedly used the so-called barrel bombs with poisonous substances," the statement read.

The Russian military added that the militants had brought two containers with chlorine-based toxic substance to Jisr al-Shughur to make provocation seem "natural."

According to the center, all videos of provocations shot in Jisr al-Shughur will be handed to broadcasters by the end of the day after being released in social media.
