GENEVA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) The Syrian ceasefire guarantor states Russia, Turkey and Iran are discussing the possibility of creating a working group to draft the list of the civil society representatives for the future constitutional commission, a source close to the talks told Sputnik.

At the moment, representatives of Russia, Turkey and Iran are holding a quadrilateral meeting with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura to discuss the formation of the Syrian constitutional commission and Idlib situation.

They are reviewing the list of some 150 candidates for the Syrians-only body to work on constitutional reform in the country.

These 150 candidates, submitted earlier by the three guarantors and the UN, a part of three different groups: the government, opposition and civil society.

So far, the civil society group has been the most difficult to form, since all sides apparently have different views on what exactly it means and who can be included.

Asked whether the guarantors agreed to set up a working group to finalize the list from the civil society, the source told Sputnik that "the discussion on it is still ongoing."
