Yemeni officials review demining project

MAA’RIB, (Pakistan Point News - 10th Sep, 2018) Major General Mohammed bin Salem bin Abboud, First Under-Secretary of the Yemeni Ministry of Interior, reviewed the "Massam" demining project in Yemen, which was launched by Saud Arabia, to explore its latest developments.

During his visit to the project, accompanied by Brigadier General Abdul Malek Al Madani, Director of Security of Maa’rib Governorate, Brigadier General Abdulghany Shaalan, Special Forces Commander in Maa’rib Governorate, and Brigadier General Amin Oqaily, Director of the National Mines Programme, Major General bin Abboud witnessed the work on the project, whose trained field teams have defused around 2,000 mines since its launch.

The delegation highlighted the importance coordinating with the Yemeni Ministry of Interior, to ensure the safety of the project’s teams and the security of their transportation, which was welcomed by Ussama Al Qussaibi, Director-General of the Massam Project, who highlighted the efforts of the Yemeni Ministry of Interior to improve security without disrupting their work.
