Security Bolstered in DPR in Wake of Zakharchenko's Murder - Acting Head
DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st September, 2018) The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) have strengthened security measures following the assassination of DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko, acting head of the republic Dmitry Trapeznikov said on Friday.
Zakharchenko was killed in a blast in downtown Donetsk earlier in the day. The DPR authorities said the attack was a terrorist act and blamed it on the Ukrainian Security Service which denied involvement.
"Security measures have been enhanced, all the borders have been closed, several people have been detained ... The security is ensured at the maximum level," Trapeznikov said.
