Head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Alexander Zakharchenko was killed in a terrorist attack, Zakharchenko's administration told the Donetsk news agency Friday.

"Unfortunately, DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko was killed as a result of a terrorist act. The details are being clarified," the statement said.
