UK to Provide Funding for African Union Fight Against Al-Shabab Terrorists - May
The United Kingdom will provide funding to the African Union's mission in Somalia against al-Shabab terrorist group, UK Prime Minister Theresa May said at a press conference with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) The United Kingdom will provide funding to the African Union's mission in Somalia against al-Shabab terrorist group, UK Prime Minister Theresa May said at a press conference with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday.
"I will announce a new package of funding to support the African Union mission in Somalia," May said, referring to the African Union mission in Somalia against al-Shabab terrorists.
Al-Shabab is a jihadist group operating in east Africa. They are suspected of links to a deadly 2017 bombing in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia.
The UK prime minister is currently on a three-day trip to South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.
