Russian Rescuers Search Pacific Port for Wrecked North Korean Boat

VLADIVOSTOK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) Rescuers are looking for a North Korean boat, possibly with a crew, that a storm is feared to have tossed ashore in the Russian port of Vladivostok on the Pacific coast, a local emergency agency told Sputnik.

"We have been alerted to a stranded North Korean vessel spotted under a bridge on the Russky Island.

Witnesses say there may be people on board. A group of six people... was dispatched at 11:50 a.m. [1:50GMT] to verify this information," the agency's spokesperson said.

Some 250 foreign vessels - primarily North Korean and Chinese fishing boats - sought shelter in Russian harbors overnight, authorities said. Some of them got stranded, and a fisherman required medical care.
