AG Sessions Needs to Be Replaced, Relationship With Trump 'Beyond Repair' - Senator Graham
Attorney General Jeff Sessions needs to be replaced because tensions with President Donald Trump are out of control and the nation needs a new attorney general to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his probe into the 2016 presidential campaign, Senator Lindsey Graham said in an interview on Tuesday.
WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th August, 2018) Attorney General Jeff Sessions needs to be replaced because tensions with President Donald Trump are out of control and the nation needs a new attorney general to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his probe into the 2016 presidential campaign, Senator Lindsey Graham said in an interview on Tuesday.
"This relationship is beyond repair," Graham told the Today Show. "This is a dysfunctional relationship. We need a better one."
Sessions is not the only person in the country who can be attorney general, Graham added.
"You have to replace him with somebody who is highly qualified and who will commit to the Senate to allow Mueller to do his job," Graham said.
Trump's criticism of Sessions reached a new level this week with a series of tweets that all but ordered the attorney general to have the Justice Department begin investigating Trump's Democratic opponents, presumably referring to Democrats linked to the 2016 presidential campaign.
