Almost 370 Refugees Return to Syria From Lebanon Over Past 24 Hours - Refugee Center

Nearly 370 Syrian refugees returned to their home country from neighboring Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Syrian office of the Russian Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said on Monday.

DAMASCUS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th August, 2018) Nearly 370 Syrian refugees returned to their home country from neighboring Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Syrian office of the Russian Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said on Monday.

"Over the past 24 hours, 367 refugees returned to Syria from Lebanon via crossing points," Brig. Gen.

Samer Arnus said at a meeting of the Russian refugee center and the Syrian coordinating committee for refugee return.

Arnus added that 134 Syrians returned to Eastern Ghouta province, and 642 left Idlib de-escalation zone over the same period.

More than 5.6 million people have fled Syria and over 6.6 million have been internally displaced since the start of the conflict in Syria in 2011, the United Nations said.

Lebanon has taken in over 1 million Syrian refugees within the several years of armed conflict in Syria.
