Magnitude 6.1 Earthquake Hits Western Iran - US Geological Survey

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th August, 2018) An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit on Saturday western Iran, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake was registered at 22:13 GMT,

with the epicenter located 31 kilometers (8 miles) to the west of the town of Javanrud at the depth of 10 kilometers, according to the USGS data.

There has been no information on victims or damage caused by the earthquake.
