Los Angeles Bureau of Associated Press Agency Receives Anonymous Threat - Statement
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd August, 2018) The US-based Associated Press (AP) news agency said it had received a threat made by an anonymous phone call to its bureau in Los Angeles.
An AP reporter Amanda Lee Myers wrote on Twitter on Wednesday that an unknown individual called the bureau and threatened to start shooting at the agency's staff.
"This afternoon AP received an anonymous call to our Los Angeles bureau. It was nonspecific but threatened possible violence. Each threat AP receives is taken very seriously," the news agency said in a statement, published on Myers' Twitter later on Wednesday.
The safety of staff is paramount for the agency, the statement added, noting that AP reported the threat to local authorities.
