Abu Dhabi Police participate in conference on integrated care of prisoners in US
A delegation of the Abu Dhabi Police, ADP, led by Brigadier Ahmed Ali Al-Shehhi, Deputy Director of General Directorate Of Penal and Correctional Institutions , has participated in a conference on the integrated care of prisoners, organised by the American Correctional Association, in Minneapolis, United States, US.
ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 14th Aug, 2018) A delegation of the Abu Dhabi Police, ADP, led by Brigadier Ahmed Ali Al-Shehhi, Deputy Director of General Directorate Of Penal and Correctional Institutions , has participated in a conference on the integrated care of prisoners, organised by the American Correctional Association, in Minneapolis, United States, US.
Brigadier Al Shehhi reviewed the development of the ADP’s penal institutions, which provide overall integrated care to prisoners, as part of an integrated system of advanced programmes aimed to rehabilitate prisoners after their sentences, enable them to integrate into their community and commit to the law.
Brigadier Al Shehhi stated that penal institutions in Abu Dhabi not only take care of prisoners as per human rights standards, but they also organise training programmes and capacity building workshops to improve their performance.
He added that penal and correctional institutions in Abu Dhabi have adopted a strategy of continuous improvement of their general performance, to ensure the full enforcement of law, through a working team with the required skills to deal with prisoners, whether adults or juveniles.
