MOFAIC delegation meets Mauritius officials

PORT LOUIS, (Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2018) Seetanah Lutchmeenaraidoo, Mauritius' Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, received a delegation from the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, MoFAIC.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed means of enhancing cooperation between the two countries across the commercial, developmental, cultural and tourism sectors, among others.

The UAE delegation included Dr. Rashid Al Afari, Charge d'Affaires at the UAE Embassy in Mozambique, and Mona Al-Meini, Deputy Director of Economic and Commercial Affairs at MoFAIC.

The visit included several meetings with senior officials from the Government of Mauritius, where means to advance ties in the civil aviation sector, as well as investment opportunities in ports and logistics were reviewed.

The delegation also met with Roubina Jadoo-Jaunbocus, Minister of Gender Equality, Child Development and Family Welfare. The parties discussed opportunities to promote women's empowerment and capacity building. Minister Jadoo-Jaunbocus praised the UAE's experience to promote gender equality and women's empowerment.
