Geneva Centre for Human Rights, World Council of Churches discuss cooperation

Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali Al Qassim has praised the strategic relationship between the centre and the World Council of Churches, and their active cooperation in organising various and specialised forums and seminars related to promoting common human values and confronting the discourse of hatred, extremism and religious fanaticism.

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 18th Jul, 2018) Chairman of the Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue Dr. Hanif Hassan Ali Al Qassim has praised the strategic relationship between the centre and the World Council of Churches, and their active cooperation in organising various and specialised forums and seminars related to promoting common human values and confronting the discourse of hatred, extremism and religious fanaticism.

In a meeting with the Secretary General of the World Council of Churches Dr. Olav Fykse Tveit, the two sides discussed boosting bilateral relations, in the presence of the Executive Director of the Geneva Centre Ambassador Idriss Jazairy.

They also reviewed the outcomes of the World Conference entitled "Religions, Creeds and Value Systems: Joining Forces to Enhance Equal Citizenship Rights".

Dr. Al Qassim expressed his utmost gratitude to Dr. Tveit for the extraordinary support offered by the World Council of Churches during the World Conference.

Dr. Tveit praised the vital role played by the Geneva Centre and its distinguished international efforts to promote and improve human rights initiatives as well as the dissemination of the values of human coexistence among different peoples and cultures.
