ET celebrates Zayed Humanitarian Day

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 04th Jun, 2018) Emirates Transport, ET, has organised a number of charitable events and initiatives to mark Zayed Humanitarian Work Day, which falls on the anniversary of the death of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Hanan Mohammed Saqer, Executive Director of Corporate Services at ET, said that this day is an opportunity to recall the accomplishments of Zayed, pointing out that his memory can inspire all members of society to exert more efforts to help the less fortunate amongst us. She called on employees to take advantage of this special anniversary by embracing humanitarian work, using Zayed as a role model in the way he thought of others.

Working in cooperation with Dar Al Ber Society, the Federal transport corporation launched an internal appeal for employees to donate new Eid clothes to families in need to help them enjoy the occasion.

Employees were urged to fill specially designed boxes with as many items of clothing as they wish to donate. Many of the 200 collected boxes contained items such as children’s suites and dresses.

Commenting on the initiative, she said, "As individuals and corporations, we must draw inspiration from the legacy of Sheikh Zayed to increase our humanitarian efforts and reach out to the community to strengthen the bonds of society,"

Other events included the distribution of 10,000 free meals to people in iftar tents across various locations in the country and the distribution of Ramadan food rations to 150 families. There were also a number of internal events directed at ET employees including a competition about the life of Sheikh Zayed.
