Special persons get regular jobs in KMC

KARACHI, (Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2018) : Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said the services of 44 contractual employees of KMC have been regularized under the disabled quota on the orders of the court.

It is good to see that such persons were getting their right first time in the history of KMC but departments should not wait for the court’s order for doing their responsibility. KMC officers observe punctuality in office timings and ensure attendance of lower staff.

Habitual late coming officers must change their ways or stay at their home. Despite of limited resources public welfare works are being carried out in the city including water and sewerage and garbage lifting works which are not even our prime responsibility.

He said this while addressing to a ceremony held in the KMC Head Office to hand over appointment letters to disabled contractual employees of KMC. Municipal Commissioner Dr. ASghar Abbas, Parliamentary leader in CityCouncil Aslam Shah Afridi, Muslim League (N) Parliamentary leader Aman Khan Afaridi, Senior Director HRM Mehmood-ul-Hassan, other senior officers of KMC also attended this program.

Mayor Karachi said these disabled employees should have been regularized long ago and the concerned department should have fulfilled its duty, however we have this trend now that high court is dealing with matters of water and sewerage, garbage and now jobs for disabled persons which is unfortunate.

He said after this came to my knowledge, thorough departmental survey was done and after fulfilling all formalities and adopting the procedure these 44 contractual employees who have different disabilities were now being regularized and given appointment letters in KMC.

He congratulated the employees who got their services in KMC regularized and said that he got the departments in very bad shape in KMC and these are now being gradually made better. He said the problems of Karachi are our own problems and the citizens have elected us for solving their problems.

Large quantity of garbage has been removed from district central with the coordination of Bahria Town and now we are doing this work in district Korangi after which we will repeat the same in the district west.
