Committee constituted for unattended patients at LGH

Principal of Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Prof. Dr. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab has directed that all unattended patients should be looked after properly at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) and authorities would be responsible for all their requirements till their relatives are found.

LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - 27th Jan, 2018) : Principal of Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Prof. Dr. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab has directed that all unattended patients should be looked after properly at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) and authorities would be responsible for all their requirements till their relatives are found.

Prof. Dr. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab constituted four-member committee headed by Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital who would not ensure provision of medical health cover but other facilities as well to such patients who are brought hospital.

He said that in this Committee duty DMS Emergency, Nursing Superintendent and Medical Social Welfare Officer would be members while duty doctor would be bound to inform such patient to Police and Media immediately.

The Principal PGMI said that it is observed that mostly such patients are brought in accidental cases and these patients are left without proper treatment. He directed that in future such criteria should be developed which can help in their care properly.

Prof. Ghias un Nabi Tayyab said that it is our religious and moral obligation that such unattended patients be provided all possible help and he himself would monitor such cases. He said that especially in Lahore General Hospital every patient will be the responsibility of the hospital until relatives are found and patient is shifted after proper recovery.
