PDMA & PU signs MoU for mutual cooperation, coordination

LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2018) : The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab and University of the Punjab Lahore inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) here on Monday.

Director PDMA Dr. Khurram Shehzad and Head of Social Work Department Dr Zahid Javaid signed the MoU. The purpose of the MoU is to establish collaborative arrangements between both the parties to cooperate and coordinate with each other in areas of mutually beneficial activities.

The arrangement will cover a wide range of subjects relating but not limited to intra, inter and multidisciplinary research. According to this MoU, the scope of cooperation between both the parties include carrying out the joint research, disseminating research and analysis including mutual publication in electronic and printed form and development of chapters on disaster management for inclusion in course curriculum of Punjab’s schools and colleges.

Both parties agreed to work in an open and transparent manner in order to implement the above activities. Both will ensure appropriate acknowledgment of the other when collaborating on the development and implementation of joint project activities.

It is a prospective initiative that has been taken by both the organizations. PDMA Project Coordinator Mr. Nisar Ahmed Sani along with others was also present on the occasion.
