Blinken Says Held 'Productive Talks' in Kiev on Russia, Reforms With Zelenskyy

�WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th May, 2021) US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement that he had productive talks about Russia and government reforms with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian officials.

"Productive time spent in Kyiv with President Zelenskyy and all those with whom I met," Blinken said via Twitter. "The United States is resolute in the face of Russian aggression and in our support for the reform work needed to ensure a sovereign, democratic, and prosperous future for Ukraine.

On Thursday Blinken started his two-day official visit to Kiev to meet with Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, and other Ukrainian officials. He is the first member of the Biden administration to visit Ukraine.

The United States and other European partners have expressed concern over the military buildup on Ukraine's eastern border with Russia. The United States provides Ukraine an annual $250 million in security assistance.
