Makkah, May (پاکستان پوائنٹ نیوز 29 مايو 2025ء) The Miqats were established based on the various directions from which pilgrims approach Makkah, and there are five Primary locations. Dhul Hulayfah, also known as Abyar 'Ali, is located approximately 18 kilometers from Madinah. It is the farthest Miqat from Makkah, at a distance of about 400 kilometers. Pilgrims coming from Madinah, or those passing through it, are required to enter into Ihram at this point.
Al-Juhfah, located around 180 kilometers from Makkah, historically served as the Miqat for pilgrims from the Levant, Egypt, and Morocco. Due to the loss of the original site from flooding, pilgrims now assume Ihram from Rabigh, a nearby location serving the same purpose.
Qarn al-Manazil, also known as Al-Sayl Al-Kabeer, is situated approximately 80 kilometers from Makkah. It is designated for pilgrims coming from Najd and Taif, as well as for others who pass along that route.
Yalamlam is a mountain in Tihama region, situated about 120 kilometers south of Makkah. This Miqat is designated for those arriving from Yemen, Tihama, and neighboring areas, whose pilgrims would be approaching from the south.
Dhat Irq is located to the northeast of Makkah, around 100 kilometers away. It is the Miqat for pilgrims from Iraq and for others traveling through that direction.
To ensure a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling experience, the Kingdom’s authorities continue to develop and maintain these Miqat locations. Their efforts include enhancing infrastructure and providing key services such as guidance, restrooms, comfort facilities, and first aid stations, demonstrating a continued commitment to the care and service of pilgrims on their sacred journey.
