Turkey Can Hold Suspects Without Charge For Up To 30 Days: Official

ISTANBUL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd july,2016) : Turkey can hold suspects in detention without charge for up to 30 days under its state of emergency imposed in the wake of the failed coup aimed at ousting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, an official statement said on Saturday.
The suspects can be held for up to 30 days before being taken to a judge to decide whether to remand them in custody, said an announcement in the official gazette, where all laws and decrees appear when they come into force. It added 1,043 private schools and 1,229 associations and foundations will be shut down under the state of emergency.
