Mongolian PM Elected As Ruling Party Leader

ULAN BATOR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Nov, 2017 ) :Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh was elected as the head of the ruling Mongolian People Party (MPP) on Tuesday at the party congress.
Local reports said Khurelsukh won 63 percent of the votes to become the new leader of the MPP at the 28th Party Congress to replace Miyegombyn Enkhbold, who is working as the country's Speaker of the parliament.
Khurelsukh served in the cabinet as Minister for Emergency Situation from 2004 to 2006, Minister for Professional Inspection from 2006 to 2008, and in 2014-2015 and 2016-2017 as Deputy Prime Minister.
He was elected as the prime minister in October 2017. During the three-day meeting which began on Monday, the participants will discuss the political and economic situation, activities and actions of the party, and the future goals.
