300 Children From 24 Islamic Countries Display Their Drawings At OIC Science & Technology Summit

Children from the Islamic world displayed their drawings at an art exhibition organized on the sidelines of the First Islamic Science and Technology Summit hosted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, on September 10-11

ASTANA (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Sep, 2017 ) : Children from the Islamic world displayed their drawings at an art exhibition organized on the sidelines of the First Islamic Science and Technology Summit hosted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, on September 10-11.

The exhibition, opened by Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Dr. Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, featured drawings of 300 children from 24 Muslim countries gathered over 18 years.

These drawings have documented the children's life experiences and their interaction with the events surrounding them. The exhibition, organized by ISESCO as part of the "Children Are Painting the World" project, was presented as an information bank that features the best art works by children aged 3-17.

"These children's albums are a unique material for fine arts teachers, which would help them to promote the concept of arts education for children and young people," said the trustees of the Children Are Painting the World Foundation.

They noted that these works have special artistic value as they are considered a document of its time since children are the most honest group in any society. "Collecting the cultures of the Muslim world should start from the younger generation," said Secretary General of Kazakhstan National Commission for UNESCO and ISESCO Assel Utegenova.

Ms Utegenova pointed out that the albums reflect the children's perception of our world, as well as their aspirations, expectations and hopes. She added that the work of the participants is a positive example of how to express oneself, achieve cultural diversity and promote mutual understanding between peoples.

She also asserted that the pursuit of high levels of education, scientific progress, sustainable development and protection of the huge cultural heritage and diversity should begin at very young ages. She stated that the children's albums show how close the values and ideals of all participants in the "Children Are Painting the World" project.
