North Korea resumed regular flights between Pyongyang and the Chinese port city of Dalian after an almost a 12-year hiatus, media reported Saturday

The new US Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun made his second visit to Seoul in the past week ahead of the inter-Korean summit, local media reported on Saturday.

The UN and humanitarian partner agencies are providing aid to two North Korean provinces affected by flooding that has displaced more than 10,000 people and destroyed thousands of homes, UN deputy spokesman Farhan Haq said in a press briefing on Friday.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Friday that it had lodged a protest in the light of the US sanctions imposed on a Chinese company over its alleged violation of UN sanctions against North Korea.

The North and South Koreas on Thursday discussed the idea of setting up a demilitarized zone along the Northern Limit Line (NLL), the de facto maritime boundary between the two nations in the Yellow Sea, local media reported, citing sources in Seoul.
