SIALKOT, (Pakistan Point News - APP - 29th july, 2016) : Punjab Minister for Zakat and Ushar Muhammad Nadeem Kamran on Friday announced that flood situation was under control in Sialkot district. He said that the government was utilizing all its resources including machinery to strengthen dykes of nullahs. Addressing a press conference at DCO Office here, he said that the Irrigation Department was making all-out efforts to fill breaches in Nullah Aik and Daik.
He said now both nullahs were flowing in normal condition. He said that the government was investigating the matter as to how Nullah Aik breach occurred, causing flood-like situation in the area, adding that those officials found negligent would be punished. He said that the government had approved a huge amount for expansion of Nullah Aik and Nullah Daik to avoid flood in future. He said that the government had arranged food and clean drinking water for the flood victims and the Livestock Department had arranged fodder for 500 animals.
