LAHORE, (Pakistan Point News - APP - 29th july,2016) : Punjab Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheeduddin Friday said Rs 39.63 million have been earmarked in the current budget for repair and maintenance of working women hostels. She was presiding over a meeting regarding Annual Development Programme 2016-17 and implementation of Women Package here. Provincial Secretary Bushra Aman gave a briefing on repair and rehabilitation of 10 working women hostels, awareness campaign and training programme of domestic workers.
The meeting was told that approval had been given in the meeting of departmental development sub-committee for repair and rehabilitation of hostels at Gulshan-e-Ravi and Model Town Lahore, Gujranwala, Shamsabad and Khana Road Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan. The minister reviewed the ongoing public awareness campaign regarding women rights and action under Women Package 2014. She said Rs 49.58 million had been allocated under various heads for the campaign. She said a seminar was being arranged in Faisalabad next month on honour killing which would be attended by people of different walks of life.
