PFA Launches Crackdown Against Selling Unwholesome Meat

LAHORE, Feb 2 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Feb, 2017 ) : Provincial Minister for food Bilal Yasin on Thursday said the Punjab Food Authority had launched a crackdown against culprits involved in selling of meat of dead and sick animals.
Talking to the media during a visit to Tolinton Market here, he said meat sellers would have to follow the SOPs of the Food Authority regarding cleanliness of their sale points. He said the Punjab Food Authority had wiped out all dirty and unhygienic environment from Tolinton Market Lahore.
"We will implement this model on other meat markets of the city," he added. He showed serious displeasure over poor condition of sanitation system at Tolinton Market and directed WASA officials to speed up their working for early completion of drainage system.
Bilal Yasin said that due to poor sanitation conditions, shopkeepers and customers were facing problems. The minister visited a number of shops and asked about cleanliness and quality of meat.
