PESCO BoD Approves 16 New Sub Divisions For Better Electricity Management

PESHAWAR,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th july,2016) : The 109th meeting of Peshawar Electricity Company (PESCO) Board of Directors (BoD) was held at Wapda House Peshawar and approved 16 new sub divisions for better power management in the province. Chairman BoD Pesco Malik Muhammad Asad Khan presided over the meeting.
The Secretary of company presented minutes of 108th BOD meeting, which were approved after detailed discussions, says a press statement of PESCO. The BoD gave approval for the creation of seven new sub divisions inculding Mangora, BariKot, Dewalai, SakhaKot, BatKhela, Chamla and Kanju sub divisions in Swat Circle, five new sub divisions of Havilian,Damtor, Jinahabad, Manglor and SariaNimat Khan in Hazara Circle and four new sub divisions of KotalTown, BabriBanda, ShakarDara and Hayatabad-2 in Khyber Circle. The meeting hailed the efforts of Chairman BoD Malik Muhammad Asad Khan for curtailing the expenditure and saving of billion of rupees of PESCO. It merits to mention here that the Chairman BoD has decreased tenders expenditure of PC Pole Jahangira and saved Rs 620 million. Similarly, the expenditure of two under construction blocks in Wapda Colony Sakhi Chashma has been restricted to Rs 65 million instead of Rs 75 million by saving Rs 11 million of PESCO. The building of Transformer Reclamation Workshop SaraiNorang which was completed but not hand over to PESCO due to some reasons, Chairman BoD took this issue as challenge and PESCO get the building and saved Rs 3.
6 million for the company. BoD approved the revised discounted contract rates for construction of Cat.III Flats at Wapda Colony SakhiChashma. The BoD also approved revised discounted contract rate of Transformer Reclamation Workshop SaraiNorang. Similarly BoD approved up-gradation of Katlang Sub Office to Sub Division and creation of Murghuz sub division in Mardan Circle. He meeting hailed PESCO's performance and assured full support and cooperation in this regard. Chief Executive Pesco Anwar-Ul-Haq Yousafzai gave a comprehensive presentation to the board about company performance and said PESCO's Line Losses during 2016-17 has been decreased by 1%. He said employees have to become efficient in resolving consumers complaints and requested consumers to remove kundas as it was a major cause of system overloading. A number of other managerial and administrative matters on the agenda were also approved. Board Members including Chief Executive Pesco Anwar-Ul-Haq Yousafzai, Col:Rtd:Jahanzeb Khan, Syed Musawar Shah, Iftikhar Ahmad Khan, Dr.
Amjad Ullah Khattak, Qamar-U-Zaman, Nimat Ullah Abid, General Manager Syed Hassan Fazil, General Manager Niaz Muhmmad, Chief Engineer Operation Muhammad Iqbal Marwat, Chief Engineer PMU Dr. Muhammad Amjad, Chief Engineer Khalid Saeed Akhtar, Director General HR Muhammad Saleem Jahangir, Finance Director Yasir Naseem & Secretary Board Khurshid Ahmad attended the meeting.
