FATA Parliamentarians Call A Jirga In Islamabad Next Monday

ISLAMABAD, Feb 2 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 02nd Feb, 2017 ) : FATA parliamentarians have called a Jirga in Islamabad next Monday to discuss matters about future of the tribal belt. Talking to Radio Mashaal, FATA MNA Shah Jee Gul Afridi said that they would convene a Jirga at Convention Centre, Islamabad next Monday.
He said that tribal elders, politicians, lawyers and students are invited to attend the Jirga. "We will hold a Jirga on Monday and will issue a declaration. We will also give dateline to decide about the future of the FATA.If our demand is not accepted, we will stage sit-in," he said.
It may be recalled that JUI-F and Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party have expressed reservations over reforms prepared by FATA Reforms Committee headed by Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.
Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party called a Jirga last Sunday demanding for making FATA a separate province. PPP leader Akhunzada Chattan said that he supports merging of FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. "We will support and cooperate with FATA parliamentarians in their demand of merging FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa," he said.
