IGP Sindh Forms Committee For Preparing New CRO Software

KARACHI, Feb 1 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 01st Feb, 2017 ) : The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has set up a committee for preparing a new software regarding the CRO. A spokesman of the Sindh Police said here on Wednesday that the IGP chaired a meeting here at the Central Police Office.
He said the committee would be headed by the Additional IG Karachi. At the meeting, the DIG IT briefed regarding significance of Criminal Record Office (CRO) system and informed that at present a date was being compiled under this system, consisting of the particulars of the arrested accused in 75 police stations in Karachi.
He said steps were being taken for preserving the record of the finger prints of all the inmates of jails as well as the accused lodged in the police stations' lock up. Contacts have also been established with NADRA for the finger matching technology as well as prompt access of criminals' record etc.
The IGP also directed all the DIGs to take the required steps for bringing the remaining police stations on the CRO system. The numbers of the CNIC should also be made part of the record apart from the finger prints of the accused and their photographs, he added.
