Rs 30.76 Mln Distributed Among IDPs NWA

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th july,2016) : Rs. 30.76 million were distributed among 187 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency (NWA), whose houses were damaged during the Zarb-e-Azab operation. Talking to APP here Friday, Assistant Political Officer (APO) Miranshah Anwar Khan Sherani and Assistant Political Agent Mirali Manzoor Khan Afridi said the house owners got Rs 400,000 for fully damaged houses and Rs 160, 000 for partially damaged ones. As many as 71 families in Tehsil Miranshah and 116 in Mirali received the cheques while 32 families got Rs 400,000 and 155 families received Rs 160,000. The cheque distribution ceremony was attended by Lt.Col Ghulam Abbas, Major Babar and Captain Badar from 15-NLI Pakistan Army while officials from the Political Administration of Miranshah and Mirali including Tehsildar Miranshah Fazal Dad Wasafi and Tehsildar Mirali Saraf Ali and head of tribes were also present on the occasion.
They said that Pakistan Army and Political Administration of North Waziristan Agency were taking various steps for the restoration of all IDPs and it was the responsibility of the government to provide all possible basic facilities. To a question, Manzoor Afridi said that the all the cheques were distributed among the IDPs on merit. The victim families thanked the Pakistan Army and Political Administration and demanded that this financial aid should be increased from Rs 400,000 to one million keeping in view the price hike.
