Maintaining communal harmony, brotherhood in IOK urged

ISLAMABAD, Feb 1 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 01st Feb, 2017 ) : APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front (JKNF), Nayeem Ahmad Khan has urged the people of Jammu region to maintain communal harmony and brotherhood among their ranks.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, who is in Jammu these days, addressing a joint meeting of pro-freedom activists said that some nefarious elements for their vested interest were constantly trying to create uncertainty and instability among people of the region but they would not succeed in their evil designs.

He said that the present situation of the territory demanded immediate initiatives for a political solution to the Kashmir dispute. This unresolved Kashmir dispute has become a threat to the peace and tranquility of the entire south Asian region, he added.

The meeting was also addressed by Mir Shahid Saleem, Narinder Singh Khalsa, Muhammad Shafi, Sardar Gurdev Singh, Babu Singh and Ranjeet Singh. All the speakers stressed the need for finding a final settlement of the Kashmir dispute so that permanent peace could be established in the region.

They said that people of Jammu were being misguided by some political forces and appealed for promotion of mutual brotherhood. "We need to defeat the nefarious designs of the evil forces," they added.

The speakers said that a strong awareness campaign needed to educate the people about the importance of communal harmony and brotherhood. Protection of the rights is very important for every citizen of the territory, irrespective of his/her religion, caste and creed, they maintained.

The speakers said that the present puppet regime was using brute force to suppress the genuine voice of the people of Kashmir. "Those who challenge the nefarious designs of the evil political forces are being picked up and jailed under the draconian laws like Public Safety Act (PSA). This grave situation needs to be confronted with unity among the people," they further added.
