Hamza directs special priority to south Punjab to facilitate people

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jan, 2017 ) : PML-N central leader Hamza Shehbaz MNA Tuesday directed to give special priority to south Punjab while implementing the policy of 10 percent additional development projects for the region to maximum facilitate people of less developed areas.

He expressed these views while presiding over a review meeting of Punjab Annual Development Programme. Hamza Shehbaz directed secretaries and Chairman Planning & Development to ensure coordinated strategy on rural water supply, Khadim-e-Punjab Programme and other development projects.

He also asked for steps for early completion of 98 km long Lodhran Khanewal Road. He directed to complete PC-I for Muzaffargarh to Dera Ghazi Khan Road and construct Shehbazpur Bridge at the earliest.

He also directed to complete ongoing projects of communication and works in Bahawalpur and south Punjab, adding delay in completion of development projects would not be tolerated. The PML-N central leader directed to ensure provision of funds for hospital management system and said that health sector was among top priorities of Chief Minister.

He said completion of Murree Hospital should be ensured by May 30. Similarly, necessary steps should be taken for the completion of more development projects of Rs 9900 million at nine divisional headquarters.

He said importance of technical education had increased with CPEC and other historical projects. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Finance Minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha and Senator Saood Majeed were also present on the occasion.

Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning and Development and secretaries informed about the pace of work on different projects and problems faced in Sargodha, Gujrat, Narowal, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, DG Khan, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Khanewal and other districts.

The meeting was told that 5242 km long roads would be completed during current financial year while 275 schemes of water and sanitation would be completed. Similarly, CT scan system and laboratories were being set up in 21 hospitals while 97 development schemes were being completed.
