CHITRAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th july,2016) : After a long wait for Garam Chishma dwellers the blacktopping of lone road leading towards the area was finally inaugurated by MPA Chitral Saleem Khan by unveiling the plaque and properly initiating the construction work on this project of prime importance. In his address on the occasion the MPA said the 14 kilometers-long road with 12 feet width will be completed with JICA (Japan financial assistance fund) at a cost of rupees 320 million.
The road will be completed with asphalt plant material which is durable and having standard quality. Saleem Khan said that at first this project was handed over to FWO but lack of funds was the prime hurdle in initiating work on this important road.
However he said we are thankful to contractor who resumed work on this project after 9 months of gape. Residents of the area distributed sweets on the occasion when blacktopping work started on road. A local Nazim said the 45 km road was a two hours journey for commuters due to its dilapidated condition but now it will be a matter of short time to reach Garam Chishma from Chitral.
He also remembered the people who lost their lives due to poor condition of this dangerous road.
