Rs 734.6m Released For Public Welfare, Environment Projects In AJK

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st Jan, 2017 ) : The Federal government has released Rs 734.6 million to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) for six public welfare and environmental protection projects under the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project.
Radio Pakistan quoting official sources said the amount would be utilized for the welfare projects of local people and minimize the environmental hazards in Muzaffarabad district.
Funds have been released to the AJK Forest Department for constructing a Recreational Park and Water Shed Management at Chatter Kallas area to protect the land from erosion.
Similarly, the Environment Protection Department has also been provided requisite funds to set up testing laboratories in Muzaffarabad. The AJK Planning and Development Department has directed the departments concerned for timely completion of the projects.
