Commissioner Urges Creating Awareness Against Hepatitis Disease

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th july, 2016) : The Commissioner Hyderabad Qaiz Shahid Pervez Thursday underlined the need of creating mass awareness against the hazards of hepatitis disease and advice of adopting precautionary measures against this disease which is treatable but can be averted through timely vaccination. He expressed these views while addressing the Hepatitis Awareness Seminar organized by Hepatitis Prevention and Control Programme under Chief Minister Sindh Initiative here. He said that awareness about different kind of Hepatitis is essential for the people and media in this regard can play an important role.
There is the dire need to launch a massive mass awareness campaign so that Hepatitis could be eliminated from the province, he said and added that the disease posing great threat to the life of the people particularly those who are living in rural parts of the province.
He said that the provincial government under its programme is providing the facilities of blood screening, vaccination and treatment against Hepatitis free of cost therefore the people should avail the opportunity of these facilities. The Programme Manager Hepatitis Prevention and Control Programme under Chief Minister Sindh Initiative Dr.
Abdul Khaliq Shaikh also addressed the participants of the seminar and highlighted the measures being adopted against Hepatitis.
